1st to 6th December 2016
Our last stop in Cambodia was Siem Reap, home to the majestic temples of Angkor.
25th to 30th November 2016
Anyone who has come into contact with either Nick or me in the past 6 months, will not have escaped without us mentioning "the elephants". We have been very excited about our visit to the Mondulkiri Project, a sanctuary for elephants nestled in the Cambodian jungle.
Well, it happened this week. We got to hang out with some truly gorgeous elephants, and it was every bit as fantastic as we imagined.
21st to 25th November 2016
Phnom Penh is a strange fish. After several days here, we both came away unsure of how we felt about it.
23rd to 24th November 2016
Today, on Thanksgiving, we visited the Killing Fields.
I have been quietly anxious about our time in Phnom Penh for a while, as visiting here comes hand in hand with learning about the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime. Neither Nick nor I were looking forward to today's visit, or yesterday's trip to Tuol Sleng prison.
16th to 21st November 2016
Our last stop in Vietnam, was Saigon.
Officially, it's now called Ho Chi Minh city after 'Uncle Ho', but every Vietnamese person we met assured us that it's still Saigon to them.
You hear mixed reports from visitors to Saigon, but I'm here to you that it's awesome.
11th to 16th November 2016
A little sad to leave our lovely cruise and the limestone towers of Ha Long Bay, we boarded the overnight train from Hanoi to Danang. Arriving disheveled and in dire need of coffee and / or beer, we hopped a taxi for 5 days of Hoi An Happiness.
8th to 10th November 2016
After a brief first stop in Hanoi, we headed north to Ha Long Bay to cruise around this iconic national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
7th to 21st November 2016
Two days into our trip we were already firm friends with Vietnam.
Two weeks after we arrived, this smiling, colourful, and history-soaked country had gone and made us fall in love with it a bit.
